IND vs ENG: England captain Ben Stokes likely to bowl in last 2 tests

England all-rounder Ben Stokes has not bowled in test cricket since the Ashes 2023.
England all-rounder and captain Ben Stokes has some good news to share while his team looks to be running out of fuel ahead of the last two test matches. India crushed England by a heavy margin of 434 runs in the third test match played at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. After winning the first test in Hyderabad, England have lost the next two test matches played in Visakhapatnam and Rajkot.
England skipper Ben Stokes has been dealing with knee injury in last 10-12 months. Due to his injury, he has stopped bowling and is playing mainly as a batter for the English side. Stokes has now decided to take matter to his hands and is looking forward to bowl in the final two test matches of the five-match series. Last two test matches of the ongoing series will be played in Ranchi and Dharamshala.
Stokes likely to bowl in Ranchi test
England captain Ben Stokes announced that he is likely to bowl in the Ranchi test, at the post-match press conference of third test. Stokes’ decision will provide England a variety to their bowling attack and will also allow to maintain balance in the side. Stokes has also been bowling in the net sessions and this will give England side a huge confidence for the upcoming games.
England cricket team skipper Ben Stokes in the post-match press conference said, “I had my first bowl in the nets at 100 per cent. As a person, I like to jump the gun a little bit too much. I have to get my whole body to get used to bowling. So I am not saying no, but I am not saying yes, either.” Ben Stokes has not bowled after the Lord’s Ashes test against Australia last year.
All-rounder Ben Stokes is just three wickets away from a special milestone in his career. Stokes has so far taken 197 test wickets in 100 test matches. Three more wickets will add him to a unique club of cricketers with a double of 6000 plus test runs and 200 plus test wickets. So far only South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis and West Indies all-rounder Garry Sobers have achieved this feat.
