India currently lead the IND vs ENG series by 3-1 scoreline.
India have clinched another T20I series – their fourth consecutive series win under new T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav – by taking a 3-1 lead in the ongoing five-match T20I series against England, with one game to go.
India won the 1st IND vs ENG T20I by seven wickets in Kolkata and backed it up with a two-wicket win in Chennai. England bounced back with a 26-run win in Rajkot but India sealed the series with a 15-run win in Pune in the fourth T20I.
The fifth IND vs ENG T20I will be played in Mumbai on Sunday. India are likely to make some changes to their side.
IND vs ENG: 3 changes India might make to their playing 11 for 5th T20I in Mumbai
Shivam Dube Out, Harshit Rana In
Shivam Dube might miss the fifth T20I due to the concussion he sustained during the Pune game. Dube blasted a match-winning half-century but was hit on his head in India’s last over.
He didn’t come out to field, and Harshit Rana was brought on as his concussion substitute. Rana delivered a highly impactful performance, returning with figures of 3/33 on what was his T20I debut.
The Indian medical staff might suggest observing Dube for a longer period as sometimes there are delayed concussion effects. Rana, after his terrific show in Pune, should be a lock in the playing XI for the Mumbai T20I.
Arshdeep Singh Out, Mohammed Shami In
The swap of Arshdeep and Shami is expected for the 5th T20I. Arshdeep played in the first two matches and was rested for the third game, making way for Shami to return to international cricket.
With India losing in Rajkot, Arshdeep was brought back in Pune, replacing Shami. Now that India have sealed the series, the left-arm pacer might be rested again considering he is part of the squad for the ODI series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy. Plus, Shami needs more game time at the top level before the ODIs.
Hardik Pandya Out, Ramandeep Singh In
Hardik, who smoked a fifty in Pune, has featured in all four T20Is in the IND vs ENG series. He is going to be a crucial cog for India in the ODIs against England and the Champions Trophy. So, he may be rested from the 5th T20I.
India have two all-round options on the bench: Washington Sundar and Ramandeep Singh. Since the 5th T20I is at the Wankhede Stadium, which is more suited to pacers and hard-hitting batsmen, Ramandeep is likely to get the nod over Sundar.
