Indian Cricket Team and England Cricket Team are pulling their socks up for fourth test of the five-match series, which is scheduled to commence on July 23 at Old Trafford, Manchester. England, led by Ben Stokes, lead the five-match test series by a margin of 2-1 after the first three games.
England won the opening game at Headingley by five wickets. Later, India made a comeback in the second test at Edgbaston by winning the encounter by 336 runs. The third test at the Lord’s went to the final session on day 5, where England clinched a narrow victory by 22 runs.
Notably, England need one more victory to seal the series. On the other hand, India need to win the Manchester test to keep their hopes of series victory alive. However, India have never defeated England in a test match in Manchester in the past. Out of nine games, England won four matches while five ended in a draw.
While England have announced their playing XI for the Manchester test, India are expected to make the announcement at the toss. The visitors have replaced Liam Dawson with injured Shoaib Bashir, who has been ruled out of remainder of the series.
The visitors are also dealing with multiple injury concerns as all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of remainder of the test series with a knee injury. Two other bowlers, Arshdeep Singh (thumb) and Akash Deep (groin), have also been ruled out of the fourth test at Manchester’s Old Trafford due to injuries.
