The fifth IND vs ENG test at The Oval, London, will start on July 31.

The fifth and final test of the five-match series between England Cricket Team and Indian Cricket Team will commence on July 31 at The Oval, London. The hosts lead the series 2-1 and need to either win or draw the final game to win the series. The Shubman Gill-led side, on the other hand, will aim to win the final test to end the series in a draw.

The fourth test at Manchester’s Old Trafford witnessed marvellous batting performances by both teams. In the first innings, India piled up 358/10 after being asked to bat first. Later, England posted a gigantic total of 669/10 with centuries by Joe Root and Ben Stokes.

England gained a dominant position in the match with a 311-run lead in the first innings. However, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar hammered tons in the second innings to rescue India from defeat and drive the match towards a draw.

For the fifth test, India will miss the services of Jasprit Bumrah as he, as per media reports, will be rested to manage his workload. Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep, who were ruled out of the Manchester test due to injuries, are likely to be there for the Oval test.

Rishabh Pant fractured his toe in the last game and has been ruled out of the fifth test. His absence will be a big blow to India’s batting department. While India and England have a fantastic batting unit, their bowling department needs to buckle up in the next clash.

After first four matches, Indian skipper Shubman Gill is the leading run-scorer in the series, while England captain Ben Stokes has picked up the most wickets.
