IND vs ENG: Massive blow for England as star bowlers gets ruled out of last 3 tests

England left-arm spinner Jack Leach has been ruled out of remainder of IND vs ENG test series.
In a major setback to England in the ongoing five-match test series against India, left-arm spinner Jack Leach has been ruled out of the remainder of the three test matches. Leach played in Hyderabad test, but he was ruled out of the second test in Visakhapatnam. England played with an inexperienced spin attack in the second test match. Shoaib Bashir made his debut and replaced Jack Leach.
Jack Leach has not recovered yet from his knee injury which he suffered in the first test while fielding. Jack Leach was given a break to recover, but he has not shown any improvement. Leach has decided to return home from Abu Dhabi and will not be travelling to India for the rest of the series. The third test will be played at Saurashtra Cricket Stadium in Rajkot.
Jack Leach yet to recover
England team management was hoping that Leach would have an ample amount of time to recover from his injury, but the swelling is still there resulting in the English left-arm spinner’s free movement. He was unable to move freely as reported by ESPNCricinfo. Jack Leach collided with the ground while attempting a dive to stop a boundary during India’s second innings in Hyderabad.
The statement from England Cricket Board (ECB) read, “He will fly home from Abu Dhabi in the next 24 hours, where the England team have been staying ahead of the third Test in Rajkot, which starts on Thursday. Leach will work closely with the England and Somerset medical teams in respect of his rehabilitation.”
ECB is yet to announce a replacement for Jack Leach. Currently, England’s spin-bowling attack consists of Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley, Shoaib Bashir and Joe Root. The third test between India and England will get underway on 15th February, Thursday at SCA, Rajkot.
