The IND vs ENG T20I series 2025 is scheduled to begin on January 22.

England are set to tour India for eight white-ball matches. The five-match T20I series will begin on January 22, and it will be followed by a three-ODI series.

India received a major boost with the return of Mohammed Shami, who is set to make his international comeback after over a year. Shami had been sidelined from international cricket since November 2023 due to an ankle injury and then knee issues.

Other notable additions to the squad include Nitish Kumar Reddy, Dhruv Jurel, and Harshit Rana, all of whom return after missing the South Africa tour in November due to their commitments in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

England have named a strong squad, combining experience with youth. Key players include Jos Buttler, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, and Jofra Archer.

Players of both teams will look to gain form ahead of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to begin on February 19.

Have England ever won a T20I series in India?

Yes, England have won one T20I series in India out four trips. England’s only T20I series win in India came in a one-off T20I match in 2011, played in Kolkata.

Batting first, India managed only 120 runs in 20 overs, with Suresh Raina top-scoring for the hosts with 39 runs off 29 balls. In reply, England chased down the target with ease, winning by six wickets. Kevin Pietersen was named Player of the Match for his outstanding knock of 53 (39).

Overall, in four T20I series in India, England have won five out of 11 matches.

England’s record in other T20I series during their tours to India includes a 1-1 draw in 2012, followed by 2-1 and 3-2 series defeats in 2017 and 2021, respectively.
