Sourav Ganguly has lauded Ravi Ashwin’s efforts for Indian in the longest form of the game.

Ace Indian off-spinner Ravi Ashwin recently completed his most special milestone in test cricket when he joined Anil Kumble to become second Indian and overall ninth bowler to take 500 or more wickets in test cricket. Ashwin dismissed Zak Crawley to get his 500th scalp in test cricket at the Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium in Rajkot during the third test of the ongoing five-match series.

Ashwin is on his way to attain another special milestone in the upcoming fifth match of the series in Dharamsala. Ashwin will become 14th Indian cricketer to play 100 or more test matches once his name enters the team sheet for the Dharamsala test.

Ahead of Ashwin’s 100th test match for India, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has heaped huge praise on the match-winner. Ganguly has labeled Ashwin an ‘all time great’ for India and also termed Ravindra Jadeja as number one all-rounder. Ashwin and Jadeja have outclassed number of opponents in Indian conditions in the last decade.

Sourav Ganguly calls Ashwin ‘All time great’

Talking to Revsportz, Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly made a huge statement on Ravi Ashwin and said, “All-time great, all-time great offspring. 500 wickets is not a matter of joke. Then you have Jadeja, the best all-rounder at the moment. Bat and ball in these conditions.” Ravindra Jadeja recently scored a brilliant century against England at Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.

Sourav Ganguly also praised Kuldeep Yadav and said he has improved immensely. Sourav Ganguly added, “I think Kuldeep has come back immensely. He’s improved immensely. And I think with bowlers like Ashwin and Jadeja, he’s not been underdone by them. He’s made a mark of his in the series and will go on to play for India for a long period.”

Kuldeep Yadav bowled a few magnificent spells against England in the three test matches he played in the series so far. Kuldeep picked up 12 wickets and scored 67 runs in five innings. Kuldeep Yadav stitched a brilliant match-winning partnership along with Dhruv Jurel in the first innings of Ranchi test. India and England will play the final test match at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala from 7th March.
