IND vs ENG: Jasprit Bumrah to be rested for 3rd test in Rajkot - Reports

Jasprit Bumrah won “Player of the Match” award in the second IND vs ENG test in Vizag.
Ace Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah had a terrific second test match in Visakhapatnam and picked up a six-wicket haul in the first innings. Bumrah went on to pick up three wickets more in the second innings of the second test match against England in the ongoing five-match test series. Bumrah also became the quickest Indian pace bowler to pick up 150 test wickets. Bumrah took only 34 games to complete his career milestone.
Jasprit Bumrah bowled a magnificent spell in the first innings and got his second six-wicket haul in the last three test matches he played. Now according to reports from Cricbuzz, Indian team management and selectors might consider resting Jasprit Bumrah for the third test match in Rajkot to ensure he gets fit and fresh for the last two test matches in Ranchi and Dharamshala. He is also the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing series.
Jasprit Bumrah bowled 32 overs in the second test match in Visakhapatnam. He bowled 24 overs in the first test in Hyderabad. Indian team management might take this decision to lessen the workload of India’s match-winning pace bowler. Mohammed Shami is already dealing with injury and team management has decided to manage the workload of the rest of the Indian pacers.
Mohammed Siraj was rested from the second test in Visakhapatnam. Indian captain Rohit Sharma informed at the toss that Siraj has been part of the Indian playing XI continuously and team management decided to give him a rest. Siraj, who was rested for the second test, is likely to make a comeback in the third test in Rajkot. Spin-bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and middle-order batter KL Rahul were also ruled out of the second test due to respective injuries.
Indian national selection panel is yet to announce their squad for the final three test matches against England. Jasprit Bumrah’s rest might allow a young pacer an opportunity. Virat Kohli’s availability is also under doubt as he is yet to inform about his decision to Indian selectors. Virat Kohli skipped the first two tests against England due to personal reasons.
