IND vs ENG: KL Rahul to be back in India playing 11 for 4th test in Ranchi - Reports

KL Rahul is likely to bat at No. 4 for India in the fourth test against England in Ranchi.
Indian batter KL Rahul missed the second and third test matches of the ongoing five-match series due to quadriceps injury. Rahul complained about discomfort in his right quadriceps after the first test match in Hyderabad. Rahul is likely to make his comeback in the fourth test match against England at the JSCA Cricket Stadium in Ranchi. Fourth test will start from 23rd February.
India are just one win away from getting an unassailable lead in the ongoing five-match test series against England. A massive 434-run victory in Rajkot test helped India take a 2-1 lead in the ongoing series. England won the first test played at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, while India won the second test played in Visakhapatnam.
‘Rahul reaching his match fitness’
As quoted by the news agency PTI, a BCCI source informed that KL Rahul is reaching at his match fitness. The source said, “He is reaching his match fitness and should be available for Ranchi test.” KL Rahul was spotted batting in the nets ahead of the Rajkot test, but he was ruled out of the action. BCCI was also miffed with his for posting practice videos.
Ahead of the third test in Rajkot, BCCI stated in an official media release, “Mr. Rahul has reached 90 per cent of match fitness and is progressing well under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team. He will continue his recovery process at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to be completely match-fit for the fourth and fifth Test.”
KL Rahul will soon join the Indian squad in Ranchi. India are also likely to rest Jasprit Bumrah for the fourth test match. Bumrah has been playing constantly for team India and the management is likely to take this decision to manage the workload of Indian pace bowlers. Mohammed Siraj was rested for the second test played in Visakhapatnam.
