KL Rahul is back in India squad for last three tests after missing the second test.

Indian middle-order batter KL Rahul, who missed the second test against England due to injury, is now back in the India squad for the final three test matches. His selection is still subjected to fitness as he will require final clearance from the BCCI medical staff to be included in the playing XI. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also missed the second test and now he is back in the squad for final three tests subject to fitness.

In the latest update, KL Rahul has started batting in the nets. A video on social media has gone viral where Rahul was spotted batting at the nets. With Virat Kohli opting out of the remainder of the test series citing personal reasons, Rahul is likely to bat at number 4 in Indian playing XI. KL Rahul played a decent knock of 86 runs in the first test against England at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.

Rahul set to play in Rajkot

KL Rahul complained about pain in his right quadriceps after the first test match. Rahul was ruled out of the second test in Visakhapatnam along with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Rahul is in a great run of form for India in test cricket and played a few big knocks in the last few games. Rahul’s comeback in the playing XI will strengthen the middle-order in the upcoming games.

Indian team management made a few changes in their combination for the next three test matches. Shreyas Iyer is not part of the Indian squad. Iyer’s absence will allow one among Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan to play in the Rajkot test along with KL Rahul. Right-hand batter Rahul is likely to bat at number four in the playing XI. Shreyas Iyer was India’s number 4 in Visakhapatnam.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is also likely to make his comeback in the Indian playing XI. Ravindra Jadeja suffered a hamstring injury in the second innings of the first test. The third test will start on 15th February in Rajkot.
