Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the fourth IND vs ENG.

The ongoing five-match test series between India and England has been a roller-coaster of cricketing drama. England’s unexpected triumph in the opening match in Hyderabad left fans stunned, displaying their aggressive ‘Bazball’ style of play. However, India swiftly countered in the subsequent tests held in Vizag and Rajkot, asserting their dominance and securing victories. They narrowed the series to 2-1 in their favour.

As the competition intensifies, all eyes are fixed on the upcoming clashes in Ranchi and Dharamshala. Ranchi, hosting the fourth test, becomes a crucial battleground where both teams will look to edge each other yet again. Meanwhile, the fifth and final test in Dharamshala looms. England will want to win the third test and make the final the ultimate decider, while India will want to finish off the job in Ranchi.

IND vs ENG: Jasprit Bumrah will not be a part of the fourth test

One of the standout features of the ongoing series has undoubtedly been the stellar performance of India’s premier fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah. With an impressive haul of 17 wickets across three tests, Bumrah has displayed his bowling skills and his dominance. Notably, he currently holds the esteemed position of being the number-one-ranked test bowler in the world.

Amidst speculation regarding workload management, reports initially suggested Bumrah might sit out the third test in Rajkot. However, due to a substantial gap of 10 days between the second and third tests, Bumrah ultimately participated in the third encounter. Nevertheless, in a recent development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to rest Bumrah for the upcoming fourth test in Ranchi, prioritising his physical well-being and ensuring his continued peak performance for future endeavours.

KL Rahul will also miss out

KL Rahul’s road to recovery leads him to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru after missing the second and third tests due to injury. His absence extends to the fourth test as well, leaving a notable void in the Indian lineup. Adding to India’s challenges, former captain Virat Kohli is also absent for the remainder of the series, as he joyfully announced the birth of his baby boy today. With key players sidelined India faces a test of depth and their bench strength in the fourth test as well.

India’s updated squad for the 4th test:

Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), KS Bharat (WK), Devdutt Padikkal, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep.
