The much-anticipated fourth test match of the five-match series between India and England will be played from Friday, February 23, at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. Ben Stokes-led England started the series on a high note as they won the first game by 28 runs against the hosts in Hyderabad and took a 1-0 lead.
In the second test in Vizag, Rohit Sharma-led India made a stunning comeback as they hammered the English side by 106 runs and leveled the series 1-1. After that both sides clashed in Rajkot, where India won the match by 434 runs and took the lead by 2-1.
Coming into the fourth test match, the Indian cricket team will be without the services of their ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah as they take on England. Meanwhile, right-handed batter KL Rahul also has been ruled out of the Ranchi test as he is yet to recover from his injury which he sustained during the Hyderabad game.
England on the other hand has plenty of problems ahead of Ranchi match, the biggest of which is that their prime players Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow are yet to contribute with the bat. However, Root has contributed with the ball in the ongoing five-match test series but Bairstow has simply not been able to tackle the Indian spinners till now.
