KL Rahul has been ruled out of the third IND vs ENG test in Rajkot.

The ongoing five-match test series against England raised severe injury concerns withing the Indian camp. KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja suffered injuries in the first test and missed the second test in Vishakapatnam. Mohammed Shami is already out of action since months due to ankle injury. In a latest blow, KL Rahul, who got included in India squad for last three tests, has been ruled out of the third test in Rajkot.

KL Rahul was included in the squad for final three test matches, but he needed fitness clearance from the BCCI medical team to take part in the Rajkot test. BCCI informed in a press release that KL Rahul has attained his 90 percent match fitness but yet to fully fit for the action. BCCI is reportedly unhappy with Indian batter who shared a video of him batting in the nets.

Senior BCCI official raised questions on Rahul’s selection

As quoted by news agency PTI, a senior BCCI official informed that the medical team isn’t sure about KL Rahul’s fitness. Senior official also raised questions over KL Rahul’s selection in the squad for final three test matches if he was not completely fit. It was also said that the players posting video of nets sends wrong signals. Rahul posted a video of him batting in the nets a few days ago.

A senior BCCI official was quoted by news agency PTI, “If the BCCI’s medical team knew in first place that Rahul’s quad injury is as serious as it looks, why in the first place was he kept in provisional squad? And why is the player sending wrong signals by posting videos of his batting on Instagram stories?” Rahul complained about problem in his right quadriceps after the first test in Hyderabad.

According to the same sources, the BCCI official also informed that KL Rahul has not linked up Indian team in Rajkot while all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has joined the Indian camp in Rajkot. Jadeja’s selection in playing XI for Rajkot test is also subject to fitness. The BCCI is yet to provide an official update on Ravindra Jadeja.
