IND vs ENG: Massive blow for India, Ravindra Jadeja doubtful for 2nd test

Ravindra Jadeja was seen limping after getting dismissed in second innings of the Hyderabad test.
Team India suffered two major blows against England in the first test at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. England crushed India by 28 runs in the first test of the five-match test match series. Apart from a disappointing loss, India suffered an injury scare at the end of the test match. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, after suffering a hamstring injury, is doubtful for the second test at ACA-VDCA Stadium in Vishakhapatnam.
Ravindra Jadeja had a bit of discomfort while walking out of the field after getting dismissed in the second innings. Jadeja got run out while attempting a quick single in the second innings. Ben Stokes delivered a magnificent throw from mid-off to the non-strikers end and dismissed Ravindra Jadeja who was batting on two. He pulled his hamstring while running and was spotted limping back to the dressing room on the fourth day of the test match.
Ravindra Jadeja’s scans sent for evaluation
As reported by Cricbuzz, Ravindra Jadeja underwent scans after the game and the reports have been sent to Mumbai Institute for further evaluation. Jadeja’s scan reports will be evaluated in Mumbai and the extent of the injury will come out soon. They also reported that Ravindra Jadeja might miss the second test against England in Vishakhapatnam. The second test will start on 2nd February.
As quoted by Cricbuzz, a source revealed, “What we understand is that it is a hamstring pull and not tear; so he should be fine for the third Test certainly if he can’t play the second.” Indian head coach Rahul Dravid was also asked about the Jadeja’s injury and he replied, “I honestly haven’t had a chance to speak to the physio as yet. Once I get back, I’ll speak to him and see what it is about.”
Ravindra Jadeja had a terrific first test match against England in Hyderabad. He top-scored for India in the first innings and scored 87 runs. He also picked up five wickets in the game. He took three in the first innings and the two in the second. Jadeja’s absence will be a huge impact on Indian side. Kuldeep Yadav might come in as replacement for the second test to accompany Ravi Ashwin and Axar Patel in the playing XI.
