Ravindra Jadeja returned to India squad after missing the second test due to hamstring injury.

Team India suffered few major injury concerns in the ongoing five-match test series against England. KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja both missed the second test in Visakhapatnam due to respective injuries. KL Rahul and Jadeja were included in the India squad for final three-matches against England, but their availability was subjected to their fitness. Ahead of the third test in Rajkot, BCCI announced KL Rahul hasn’t recovered fully yet and has been ruled out of the game.

During the same announcement, BCCI also confirmed that Devdutt Padikkal will join the Indian squad as KL Rahul’s replacement for the third test in Rajkot. After update over KL Rahul, fans were eagerly waiting for update on ace Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. The third test between India and England will be played at the SCA, Rajkot, home ground of the veteran Indian all-rounder.

Kuldeep confirms Jadeja’s availability

While addressing a press conference in Rajkot, Indian bowler Kuldeep Yadav confirmed that Ravindra Jadeja has regained fitness and will be available for selection in the Rajkot test. Kuldeep said, “He’s doing his routine. He did one session yesterday as well. I think he’s available.” One among Kuldeep Yadav or Axar Patel will make way for Jadeja in the playing XI. Kuldeep replaced Jadeja in the playing XI in the Visakhapatnam test.

Talking about his place in the team, Kuldeep Yadav added that he doesn’t think much about it and will be happy if he gets an opportunity. Kuldeep added, “If I get the opportunity I’ll be more than happy. I don’t think too much about whether I’m playing or not. I just enjoy my day and keep working hard.” Ravindra Jadeja is one of the most important members in the Indian playing XI.

Ravindra Jadeja had a terrific first test in Hyderabad. Jadeja scored 87 runs in the first innings of the first test and picked up five wickets in the game. Jadeja is 20 wickets away from completing 300 wickets in test cricket. With the bat, he needs 107 runs to complete 3000 runs in test cricket. Ravindra Jadeja is on cusp to become only third Indian cricketer to complete the double of 3000 runs and 300 wickets in test cricket.
