Rinku Singh didn’t get to bat in the first T20I against England.

India have suffered a couple of injury blows ahead of the second T20I of the ongoing five-match IND vs ENG T20I series.

The hosts comfortably won the first match by seven wickets in Kolkata. Varun Chakravarthy starred with the ball with figures of 3/23 and then Abhishek Sharma’s blistering knock of 79 (34) made a mockery of England’s total of 132 runs.

The second T20I will be played on Saturday in Chennai but before that two players, Rinku Singh and Nitish Kumar Reddy, have been laid down due to injuries.

Rinku Singh out of 2nd and 3rd T20Is, BCCI names replacement

Rinku Singh, who didn’t get to bat in the first T20I in Kolkata, has been ruled out of the second and third T20Is due to low back spasms that he sustained while fielding in the previous match.

The BCCI have named all-rounder Ramandeep Singh as Rinku’s replacement for the next two T20Is.

Ramandeep made his T20I debut in South Africa and played two matches on the tour. There, he scored 15 runs and picked up one wicket.

Further, Nitish Kumar Reddy sustained a side strain injury in the practice session in Chennai and hence has been ruled out from the rest of the series. Reddy has been replaced by all-rounder Shivam Dube, who last played a T20I in July in Sri Lanka.

India’s updated squad for the T20I series against England:

Suryakumar Yadav (C), Axar Patel (VC), Sanju Samson (WK), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Shami, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Shivam Dube, Ramandeep Singh.
