India won the five-match test series 4-1 under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy.

With a stunning five-wicket haul on his 100th test game, Ravichandran Ashwin dismantled England’s batting lineup, handing them one final blow as the hosts, India won the final match of five-match test series by an innings and 64 runs at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsala on Saturday.

The veteran off-spinner Ashwin joined spin-bowling legends Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne and Anil Kumble as the bowlers to bag a five-wicket haul on career’s 100th test match.

With a win in the final match of the series, India registered a dominating 4-1 series win over England. This is England’s first ever test series loss since Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes took over the team as head coach and captaincy, respectively.

During the second session of the third day’s play, right-handed batter Shoaib Bashir smashed a short ball towards Sarfaraz Khan, who was fielding at short-leg. Reacting quickly, the Indian fielder ducked to avoid being hit by the ball, but Sarfaraz got struck on his head.

Fortunately, Sarfaraz was wearing a helmet and escaped a dangerous injury. Bashir quickly went towards Sarfaraz and checked on him, reassuring everyone that he was fine.

As soon as the incident happened on day 3, fans remembered Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s words during the fourth test for Sarfaraz, which went viral. Rohit didn’t take field on day 3 in Dharamsala due to stiff back.

During the fourth test match between both sides, a moment was captured by the stump mic where Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was seen giving crucial advice to Sarfaraz Khan, who was fielding at a silly point. Sharma advised Sarfaraz to wear a helmet and was heard saying, “Oye bhai, hero nahi banne ka, helmet pehen le.”
