India vs England Test Series 2024
IND vs ENG: You can't miss Sachin Tendulkar's message for Yashasvi Jaiswal after the latter's 100 in 2nd test
‘God of Cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar gave his blessings to Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal after his century in 2nd IND vs ENG test.
Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a magnificent century against England in the second test of the five-match test series at the Dr. YSR ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Jaiswal completed his first test century in India with a six off Tom Hartley’s delivery.
India decided to bat first on a flat surface and made three changes to their playing eleven, bringing in debutant Rajat Patidar, Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar for KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj respectively.
The southpaw lost out on a well-deserved century in the first innings of the Hyderabad test, but he showed remarkable discipline in Vizag, scoring a triple-digit score. Jaiswal stood firm in the first session and paid tribute to the superb deliveries, although he finished his half-century on the verge of lunch break.
Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma had added 40 runs for the first wicket, 49 runs with Shubman Gill and a significant 90-run stand with Shreyas Iyer. But all three of these batters lost wickets to harmless deliveries.
But Jaiswal kept grinding it out and his knock was vastly different from what he had played in the first innings of the first test in Hyderabad. He reaached his hundred in 151 balls.
Sachin Tendulkar blesses Yashasvi Jaiswal after he hits his second Test ton
Legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar was ecstatic on seeing Yashasvi Jaiswal reaching a brilliant Test century, his second overall and first on home soil. Sachin gave his blessing to the young cricketer and wished him luck for the future. He took it X and congratulated the cricketer with the caption “।।यशस्वी भव:।। #INDvENG. “
Meanwhile, he also joined an elite list of Indians who scored a test century both at home and away before turning 23. Jaiswal, who is 21 years old, joined the likes of Ravi Shastri, Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli, who achieved this feat before him.
