Sarfaraz Khan received his maiden India test cap from Anil Kumble ahead of third test against England.

Indian right-handed batter Sarfaraz Khan’s father and his wife were in tears when Sarfaraz finally got his maiden India test cap ahead of the crucial third test against England at Rajkot on Thursday. Once the debutant got the cap from the legendary Indian cricketer Anil Kumble, the camera showed Sarfaraz’s father Naushad and Sarfaraz’s wife Romana who were a bit emotional.

With star batter KL Rahul not available due to an injury, Shreyas Iyer being ousted and Virat Kohli opting to stay away from the ongoing test series, Sarfaraz Khan was handed his maiden test cap to play as middle-order batter. As the young batter Sarfaraz received his maiden test cap, his father, Naushad Khan, was seen hiding his eyes from the camera.

Also, Naushad was seen kissing his son’s test cap sometime later. Both father and son hugged each other tightly, and after that, Sarfaraz also hugged his wife and shared his emotional moment with them.

The middle-order batter, Sarfaraz Khan, has been smashing runs for fun while playing for Mumbai in Indian domestic cricket. He has amassed 3912 runs at a mind-blowing average of 69.85 in 45 First Class (FC) matches till now. The debutant also scored 161 runs in the second unofficial test against the England Lions last month.

Meanwhile, India have made four changes in their playing XI for the third test match. Pacer Mohammed Siraj and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja replaced Mukesh Kumar and Axar Patel, while Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel made their debuts to replace Shreyas Iyer and KS Bharat in the playing XI.
