India’s No. 3 batter Shubman Gill scored his fourth ton in test cricket.

The Dharamshala crowd erupted in a frenzy as the young Indian batter Shubman Gill notched up his magnificent fourth test century against England on Friday. But amidst the thunderous applause, a quieter celebration unfolded in the stands, one that resonated with immense pride – the celebration Shubman’s father.

Lakhwinder Gill, who is the father of Shubman is a pillar of support throughout his son’s cricketing journey. He was reportedly present at the stadium, witnessing Gill’s dream. The magnificent century wasn’t just a milestone for Shubman but it was the culmination of years of dedication, early mornings spent training, and unwavering belief instilled by his father.

Shubman Gill scored 110 runs in 150 balls with 12 fours and five sixes in his knock. He added 171 runs for the second wicket along with captain Rohit Sharma who also smacked a ton. This was Gill’s fourth test century in 46 innings. Gill’s father Lakhwinder Singh was also present and was emotional when his son reached the milestone.

Shubman Gill smacked a boundary over mid-wicket against English off-spinner Shoaib Bashir to bring up his fourth test ton. The right-hander acknowledged his father’s presence in the stands and bowed down to him., Gill’s father was also happy and emotional as he stood up to celebrate his son’s success.

Shubman Gill’s father Lakhwinder Singh was also a cricketer and he aspired to play at the international level. He was also Gill’s first coach. After consistent failure, Shubman Gill managed to score a magnificent ton in the second innings of Vizag test.

With this knock, Gill went past the 400-run mark in the ongoing Test series while also overtaking England’s Zak Crawley to become the second-highest run-scorer in the five-match series.

Along with Shubman Gill, Captain Rohit Sharma also played a brilliant knock and brings up his 12 test century in his 101st test innings. Rohit Sharma scored 103 runs in 162 balls with 13 fours and three sixes. Team India marching towards a big lead against England in the fifth test. India have crossed 400 run mark with brilliant batting performances from young brigade.
