IND vs ENG: Twitter erupts as Yashasvi Jaiswal smashes his 2nd double hundred

Yashasvi Jaiswal became third Indian to hit two double hundreds in consecutive tests.
Young Indian left-hand opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal, who slammed his maiden test double hundred in the second test in Vizag, smashed his second double hundred in the Rajkot test. Jaiswal became third Indian batter after Vinod Kambli and Virat Kohli to score two double century in consecutive test matches. Jaiswal played a blistering knock to complete his special milestone and put the hosts on front foot against England in the Rajkot test.
Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a double century in the second test played at ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Jaiswal’s innings was defining one as he helped India get close to 400 runs in the first innings. Similarly in Rajkot, Jaiswal’s effort may give huge reward to India. Along with Jaiswal, Shubman Gill (91) and Sarfaraz Khan (68*) also made useful contribution in Indian innings.

Social media celebrated Jaiswal’s second test double century in a grand style. A few twitter users posted that Yashasvi Jaiswal is India’s response to England’s hyped ‘Bazball’ strategy in test cricket. Yashasvi Jaiswal has also gone past his previous highest individual score in test cricket of 209 scored in the second test. He took 236 deliveries to score 214* in the third test in Rajkot.

Yashasvi Jaiswal completed his double ton with a quiet single, but he has been a power hitter for India in Rajkot. Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed 12 huge sixes in his blistering knock, which is also the record for most sixes hit by a batter in an innings in test cricket. He took on James Anderson and went on to smack him for three consecutive sixes. Jaiswal also broke the old record of Navjot Singh Sidhu (8) for hitting most sixes in a test innings by an Indian batter.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has also become the first ever batter to score more than 20 sixes in a test series. Jaiswal has smacked more than 20 sixes in 6 innings so far in the ongoing five-match test series. India declared their second innings at 430/4 and set a mammoth target of 557 for the visitors. The series currently stands leveled 1-1.
