IND vs ENG: Massive blow for India as Virat Kohli likely to miss 3rd test - Reports

Virat Kohli missed the first two test matches against England as well.

In a massive blow after Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul’s injury, star Indian batter Virat Kohli is likely to miss the third test as well. Kohli skipped the first two test matches against England in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam and is likely to be away from the Rajkot test as well due to personal reasons. Rajat Patidar was inducted into the Indian squad as Kohli’s replacement for the first two test matches.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is still awaiting a response from Virat Kohli about his availability in the third test match. The BCCI is yet to announce the squad for the final three test matches against England. Indian national selection panel earlier picked the squad for the first two test matches in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. The third test will begin on 15th February.

Virat Kohli hasn’t informed yet!

As reported by news agency ANI, sources have informed that the Indian selection panel led by Ajit Agarkar is still unaware of Virat Kohli’s availability as the star Indian batter is yet to inform. The BCCI has delayed the squad selection due to the same reason. The team for the rest of the three matches will likely be announced at the end of the second test match in Visakhapatnam.

Former South African skipper AB De Villiers informed on his YouTube channel that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child and Kohli is skipping international games for India due to the same reason. Star Indian batter Kohli is yet to reveal the reason officially that made him skip the few international games. He also missed the first T20I against Afghanistan in Mohali last month.

The BCCI in a press release stated that Virat Kohli asked the media and fans to respect his privacy. Earlier a few media reports suggested that Kohli’s mother is unwell which is why Kohli is away from the action, but his elder brother Vikas Kohli came out and refuted the rumours going on about their mother and informed that she is doing fine.
