Yashasvi Jaiswal hammered James Anderson for hat-trick of sixes in 3rd test in Rajkot.

Indian left-handed opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal is having a phenomenal run in the ongoing five-match test series between India and England.

Currently, Jaiswal, who is the leading run-scorer of the IND vs ENG test series, put on a spectacular show in the ongoing third-test match at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. 

Earlier on day 3, the Indian opener notched up his brilliant century before getting retired hurt for 112 runs. However, at the start of day 4, after Kuldeep Yadav’s wicket, Jaiswal came to bat and continued to dominate the English bowlers along with Sarfaraz Khan as India’s lead stretched over 500 runs at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.

However, during the 87th over of India’s second innings, Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal showed no mercy to England’s premium fast pacer James Anderson. Jaiswal, who is inching towards his second test double ton, hammered James Anderson for 21 runs, which included three huge sixes in that over.

Yashasvi Jaiswal notched up his second double hundred in the Rajkot test after having hit 209 in the second test in Vishakapatnam. Jaiswal became third Indian batter after Vinod Kambli and Virat Kohli to hit two double hundreds in two test matches. Jaiswal also broke Navjot Singh Sidhu’s (8) record for hitting most sixes in a test innings by an Indian batter. Jaiswal equalled Wasim Akram’s record of hitting most sixes in an innings in test cricket – 12 sixes.

Talking about the match, India declared at 430/4 in the second innings after Jaiswal completed his double hundred and debutant Sarfaraz Khan got to his fifty. India have set an unthinkable target of 557 runs for the visitors in the third test as the series stands levelled 1-1 at the moment.
