Mohammed Siraj has been picked in India’s XI for the 3rd IND vs NZ test instead of Jasprit Bumrah.

New Zealand stunned India with back-to-back victories in Bengaluru and Pune in the first two tests of the three-match IND vs NZ test series.

The first test in Bengaluru saw New Zealand win a test match on Indian soil after 36 years. New Zealand bowled India out for just 46 runs, which is India’s lowest-ever test score at home.

The Kiwis followed up a rare win in Bengaluru with an emphatic victory in Pune, gunning down the Indian team by 113 runs on the third day of the test. The victory in Pune marked New Zealand’s first-ever test series win in India.

Now, as the action shifts to Mumbai, New Zealand have set their sights on making history once more by attempting to become the first team to whitewash India in a three-match test series in India.

Tom Latham won the toss in the third and final test of the series and elected to bat first. India have made one change to their side, with Mohammed Siraj coming in for Jasprit Bumrah.

Why Jasprit Bumrah is not playing in 3rd test in Mumbai?

Bumrah is down with viral illness and hence was not available for selection for the third test against New Zealand in Mumbai.

The BCCI stated, “Mr Jasprit Bumrah has not fully recovered from his viral illness. He was unavailable for selection for the third Test in Mumbai.”

As a result, Mohammed Siraj gets an opportunity to feature in the XI again after being dropped from the Pune test.

Both teams’ playing XIs:

New Zealand (Playing XI): Tom Latham(c), Devon Conway, Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Blundell(w), Glenn Phillips, Ish Sodhi, Matt Henry, Ajaz Patel, William ORourke

India (Playing XI): Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant(w), Sarfaraz Khan, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj
