The IND vs NZ 4th T20I took place on January 28 in Visakhapatnam.
New Zealand made a stunning comeback in the fourth T20I against India, winning by a huge margin of 50 runs. The visitors registered their first victory of the series in the clash, which took place at Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on January 28 (Wednesday).
Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to field first, making just one change to the XI. While Ishan Kishan was ruled out due to a niggle, Arshdeep Singh returned to the side. On the other hand, the Black Caps replaced Kyle Jamieson with Zakary Foulkes.
Despite opting to bowl first, India failed to halt the Kiwis from reaching a mammoth total. With the highest scores from Tim Seifert (62), Devon Conway (44) and Daryl Mitchell (39), the Kiwis piled up a gigantic total of 215/7 in the first innings.
The home team lost key batters for low scores, with the likes of Abhishek Sharma (0), Sanju Samson (24), Suryakumar Yadav (8), and Hardik Pandya (2) failing to make a mark. Rinku Singh (39) and Shivam Dube (65) were the highest run-getters and entertained the fans with a few sixes.
However, victory was far away from the Men-in-Blue as they were eventually bundled out for 165 runs, with Mitchell Santner picking a three-wicket haul. Jacob Duffy and Ish Sodhi hunted two scalps each. Tim Seifert was adjudged Player of the Match for his fifty. Despite the defeat, India lead the five-match series 3-1.
