IND vs NZ: Live streaming details, when & where to watch 1st T20I of India vs New Zealand T20I series 2026

The 1st IND vs NZ T20I will be played on January 21 at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.
After a setback in the ODI series, the Indian Cricket Team are all set to clash with New Zealand in a T20Is. The five-match series, which will be a stage to prepare for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, will witness the opening game on January 21 (Wednesday).
Under Suryakumar Yadav, the Men-in-Blue will aim to bounce back after suffering a dismal 2-1 defeat in the ODI series. They lost a home series against New Zealand in the 50-over format for the first time.
The hosts will miss the services of key members like Washington Sundar and Tilak Varma in the opening game due to injuries. While Sundar has been ruled out of the entire campaign, Varma is set to miss the first three games. Ravi Bishnoi and Shreyas Iyer have been roped in as replacements. However, both of them are less likely to feature in IND vs NZ 1st T20I.

In Varma’s absence, Ishan Kishan will bat at three, as confirmed by the skipper Suryakumar Yadav in the press conference. Snaju Samson is expected to take the opening slot once again. It will be interesting to see who among Samson and Kishan will don the gloves.
Speaking about New Zealand, the series will mark the return of their captain Mitchell Santner. He missed the ODI series and would want to get into the rhythm for the T20 World Cup 2026 in the T20Is. All-rounder Michael Bracewell is doubtful to play after suffering a calf strain in third ODI and pacer Kristian Clarke has been added to the squad for the first three matches.
