The IND vs NZ 3rd ODI took place at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on January 18.

The third ODI of the three-match series between Indian Cricket Team and New Zealand Cricket Team took place on January 18 (Sunday) at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. New Zealand defeated the Men in Blue in the clash to script history by winning their first-ever ODI series in India.

India opted to bowl first after winning the toss, but the move did not turn out to be fruitful as the Black Caps piled up a mammoth total of 337/8 in the first innings. They lost both openers for single digits; however, Daryl Mitchell (137) and Glenn Phillips (106) hammered tons to help New Zealand put up a gigantic total on the scoreboard.

Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana were the highest wicket-takers for India with three wickets each. However, the hosts failed to get breakthroughs at the right time. In the chase, India faced a mini batting collapse at the start, losing four batters with less than 100 runs on the board. Key batters like Rohit Sharma (11), Shubman Gill (23), Shreyas Iyer (3), and KL Rahul (1) got out cheaply.

Virat Kohli played an anchor role in the chase, smacking 124 runs. He was supported well by Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy, who slammed half-centuries, but their efforts went in vain as India were eventually bowled out for 296 runs.

The Black Caps had the last laugh and registered a victory by 41 runs. Zakary Foukles and Kristian Clarke took three-wicket hauls, while Jayden Lennox picked two wickets to overpower Indian batters.
