New Zealand crushed India in the IND vs NZ 4th T20I by 50 runs in Vizag on January 28.

After winning the series, the Indian Cricket Team entered the fourth T20I against the New Zealand Cricket Team high on confidence. However, they faced a big setback in the encounter, bagging their first defeat of the campaign in the clash, which took place at Dr. YS Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Suryakumar Yadav was lucky with the toss once again and opted to field first. The home team made just one change to their playing XI, adding pacer Arshdeep Singh in place of keeper batter Ishan Kishan, who was ruled out of the encounter due to a niggle. The Black Caps replaced pacer Kyle Jamieson with Zakary Foulkes, making just one change to their side.

Adding a superb stand of 100 runs for the first wicket, Kiwi openers Devon Conway (44) and Tim Seifert (62) provided a wonderful start to batting. They lost a few batters in the middle cheaply but Daryl Mitchell ensured to propel the scoreboard to a mammoth total of 215/7 with his quick-fire 39* runs off 18 deliveries.

Indian bowlers largely failed to dominate the visitors, with Arshdeep Singh and Kuldeep Yadav getting two wickets each and Jasprit Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi hunting one scalp. Losing Abhishek Sharma for a duck and key batters like Suryakumar Yadav (8) and Hardik Pandya (2) for single digits, India lost the plot at the start.

Rinku Singh (39) and Shivam Dube (65) kept the winning hopes alive with their blistering knocks but India lost all of their key batters ahead of the last five overs. Eventually, they lost the match by a big margin of 50 runs, getting all out for 165 runs. The Men-in-Blue lead the five-match series 3-1 after four encounters.
