In the third ODI, Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first, utilising the same strategy that has been used by both skippers in the series so far.
At the toss, the Indian captain also informed that they have made just one change to their playing XI, replacing Arshdeep Singh with pacer Prasidh Krishna. New Zealand captain Michael Bracewell revealed that they have kept the same playing XI as in the last game.

While the Indian team is focused on winning the series at the Holkar Stadium, they have also been paying attention to their health off the field in Indore. According to a report by NDTV, Gill has brought along a specialised water purification machine worth INR 3 lakh.
The device is capable of re-purifying even RO-treated and packaged bottled water, and Gill has installed it inside his hotel room. Moreover, Virat Kohli has also bought his own packaged water bottles.
The Indian cricket team is staying at a five-star hotel in Indore, and the hotel management and the stadium authorities have made extensive arrangements for safe drinking water, such as providing packaged bottles and RO systems. Moreover, Indore is also considered the cleanest city in India.
However, recent reports of deaths due to contaminated water in Indore have prompted Indian players to add another layer to their health security measures. In Indore’s Bhagirathpura area, the contaminated water tragedy has killed over 23 people so far.
The government has also provided compensation to several families, while many people who fell ill after drinking contaminated water have been admitted to hospitals.
