Ishan Kishan was ruled out of the 4th IND vs NZ T20I in Visakhapatnam.
The fourth T20I between the Indian Cricket Team and New Zealand Cricket Team got underway on Wednesday, January 28, at Dr. YS Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. The Suryakumar Yadav & Co. lead the five-match series 3-0 after winning the first three encounters.
The luck favoured India once again as Suryakumar Yadav won the toss, and opted to field first. Notably, India have made quite a few changes to their XI in the previous three games in a bid to try different combinations ahead of T20 World Cup 2026.
In the IND vs NZ 4th T20I, the hosts were forced to make one change as wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan was ruled out of the match. Pacer Arshdeep Singh was added to the XI in his absence. At the toss, the Indian captain also shed light on why Kishan was missing the encounter.

At the toss, Suryakumar informed that Kishan sustained a niggle in the previous clash at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
“Arshdeep comes in for Ishan Kishan, who picked up a niggle in the last game. Axar Patel still needs a bit more time, so hopefully we’ll see him in the next game. The batters will need to take a bit more responsibility, but at the same time not shy away from playing with fearless intent. We’ve got five good bowling options today, so we’ll see how it goes,” he stated.
However, as per Sahil Malhotra of Times of India, Kishan injured his leg while fielding in the previous match.He brushed his leg with the spikes of his shoes.
Notably, Kishan has shown a wonderful form in the campaign so far. He could not go big in the first T20I in Nagpur but hammered a quick-fire half-century in the second T20I in Raipur, where he was also adjudged Player of the Match. Across three games, he has scored 8, 76, and 28 runs.
