IND vs NZ: Why did Axar Patel miss the second T20I in Raipur?

Indian Cricket Team and New Zealand Cricket Team are squaring off in the second T20I of the five-match series on Friday, January 23. The Suryakumar Yadav & Co. aim for a second victory in a row after defeating the visitors in the opening game by 48 runs. They lead the five-match series 1-0.
The encounter is taking place at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. Unlike the opening game, the Men-in-Blue won the toss this time and opted to field first.
At the toss, Yadav informed that they have made two changes to their playing XI. All-rounder Axar Patel and pacer Jasprit Bumrah were absent, getting replaced by Kuldeep Yadav and Harshit Rana in XI.
Why did Axar Patel miss from 2nd IND vs NZ T20I?

Yadav informed that Patel was ruled out of the match due to an injury. Notably, he sustained a finger injury in the opening game while bowling. He was hit on his finger while trying to catch Daryl Mitchell’s shot.
After the incident, his finger started bleeding and he had to leave the field. His over was completed by Abhishek Sharma.
“We are going to bowl first. There is already little bit of dew out there, we haven’t chased in recent times, so we want to chase. It looks good. We play every game, we try and improve on every aspects, we will try and do same things in every department. We have two changes – Axar got hit last night, Bumrah is resting, Harshit and Kuldeep come in,” Yadav said at the toss.
Moreover, New Zealand skipper Santner revealed that they have made three changes to their playing XI.
“We would have also bowled. Every time you play against a quality side in their conditions, you learn something. We have three changes – Seifert comes in for Robinson, Clark is out and Foulkes comes in, Matt Henry is also in,” the Kiwi all-rounder said.
