IND vs PAK: Drones to be used as part of security measures in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match in Ahmedabad
IND vs PAK ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match will be played on Saturday, 14th October in Ahmedabad.
India and Pakistan will clash in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both the teams have reached Ahmedabad for the high-voltage encounter with Pakistan receiving a grand welcome at the hotel.
India and Pakistan will clash for the first time in the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup since 2019 and India enjoy a 7-0 lead over their arch-rivals in Cricket World Cups. India have won all the encounters from 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003, 2011, 2015 and 2019.
India began their World Cup campaign with comprehensive wins over Australia and Afghanistan, while Pakistan also emerged victorious in their first two matches against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka.
Ahead of this high-octane clash, drones have been deployed near the venue to keep an eye on any danger or anti-social elements. These drones can fly for 12 hours and at 120 m height. They can cover an area worth 5 kilometers around the stadium.
"The drone can fly for 12 hours and at 120 m height and it can cover 5 km around the stadium. It is being used to catch antisocial elements. The drone has a full HD camera. It is being used for security of stadium and nearby places,” Ravindra Kumar from the Crime Branch told ANI.
All preparations for this India v Pakistan encounter as per the ICC standards: GCA President
Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) President Dhanraj Nathwani had previously said that the GCA was completely prepared to host one of the most important tournaments.
"All the preparations are in place for the match as per the standards set by the International Cricket Council (ICC), with the support of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). We at GCA are very proud to host such an important match along with the opening game and the final match of the World Cup and are thankful to the BCCI for the same," Dhanraj Nathwani said in a statement.
Ahmedabad is one of the prime venues in this World Cup as it hosted the opening match of the tournament and will also host the final. Apart from India v Pakistan encounter, Ahmedabad will also host the Australia v England match.
