India and Pakistan have faced each other seven times in the ICC Cricket World Cup, with India emerging victorious in every encounter. The journey began in the 1992 World Cup when India secured a 43-run win in Sydney, with Sachin Tendulkar claiming the man of the match award with his score of 54.

In 1996 World Cup, during the quarter-finals, India emerged victorious again, this time by 39 runs, with Navjot Singh Sidhu and Venkatesh Prasad being the star performers. The 1999 World Cup saw India over-power Pakistan by 47 runs in Manchester, with Venkatesh Prasad's five-wicket haul.

In 2003 World Cup, India chased down a target of 273, winning by six wickets with help of Sachin Tendulkar's man of the match performance scoring 98 runs. Both the teams couldn't face-off in the 2007 World Cup but met again in the semi-finals of the 2011 World Cup in Mohali, where India won by 29 runs, with Sachin Tendulkar securing his third man of the match award against Pakistan in World Cup.

In 2015, India clinched a 76-run victory, with Virat Kohli scoring a century. Their last World Cup encounter in 2019 saw India winning once more by 89 runs, with Rohit Sharma's spectacular 140 against the arch-rivals taking India to victory.

Most runs for India in IND vs PAK ICC Cricket World Cup matches

In India-Pakistan clashes at the ICC Cricket World Cup, a few Indian batsmen have stood out with their remarkable performances. Leading the charge is Sachin Tendulkar, who played in five World Cup matches against Pakistan between 1992 and 2011. During these matches, Tendulkar scored a total of 313 runs at an impressive average of 78.25, with the highest score of 98.

Virat Kohli, India's modern-day great, played three World Cup games against Pakistan from 2011 to 2019. Kohli scored a total of 193 runs at an outstanding average of 64.33, registering a century in the 2015 edition, with a high score of 107.

Rohit Sharma, in his two World Cup meetings with Pakistan (2015–2019), showcased his class by scoring 155 runs, including a memorable century with a highest score of 140 in 2019. He has an exceptional average of 77.50.

Other notable Indian batsmen who made their mark against Pakistan in World Cup history include Mohammad Azharuddin and Suresh Raina. Azharuddin accumulated 118 runs in three matches, while Raina scored 110 runs in two encounters.

He contributed 132 runs at a remarkable average of 66.00, and his highest score against India was 76. Aamer Sohail, in his two World Cup encounters with India between 1992 and 1996, scored 117 runs at an impressive average of 58.50. His highest score against India was 62.

Javed Miandad, one of Pakistan's cricketing legends, played two matches against India in the World Cup between 1992 and 1996, contributing 78 runs. Fakhar Zaman, the explosive opener, has only played one World Cup match against India in 2019, scoring 62 runs.

Anil Kumble, the legendary leg spinner, featured in three matches from 1996 to 2003, contributing five wickets for 142 runs, his best being 3/48.

Zaheer Khan, bowled in two games from 2003 to 2011, securing four wickets for 104 runs, with the best figures of 2/46. In the 2015 World Cup, Mohammed Shami made a significant impact in a single match, taking 4 wickets for just 35 runs, with the best figures of 4/35.
