IND vs PAK: Kuldeep Yadav & Abhishek Sharma to play tonight's T20 World Cup 2026 clash- Reports

The IND vs PAK match of the T20 World Cup 2026 will take place on February 15 in Colombo.

India and Pakistan are going to clash in match 27 of the T20 World Cup 2026. The IND vs PAK Group B encounter will take place on February 15 (Sunday) at R Premadasa Stadium in Sri Lanka.

Both teams have played two games in the tournament so far and won both. The Suryakumar Yadav & Co. defeated the USA and Namibia in their first two games like a walk in the park.

On the other hand, Salman Agha & Co. crushed the Netherlands and the USA in their opening games. Hence, both teams have four points and are placed in the top two spots in the Group A points table.

India’s playing XI in the clash against Pakistan will be in focus. Notably, India have played a different set of playing XI in both matches. For instance, pacer Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out in the opening game due to illness and replaced by Mohammed Siraj.

Opener Abhishek Sharma did not play in the second game due to a stomach infection, and Sanju Samson was added as a replacement. Although Bumrah and Abhishek have recovered from their issues, India would still make a few changes to their playing XI in the next game.

Arshdeep Singh & Sanju Samson to miss IND vs PAK match- Reports

According to reports, India are expected to make two crucial changes to their playing XI against Pakistan. According to a report by The Indian Express journalist Devendra Pandey, Arshdeep Singh and Sanju Samson will not be part of India‘s playing XI in the encounter. Abhishek Sharma will replace Samson, while Kuldeep Yadav will play in place of Arshdeep.

The addition of Kuldeep Yadav might be due to the spin-friendly pitch at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. It remains to be seen which pacers will be part of the clash. Samson could not make a mark in the previous game, scoring 22 runs off eight runs.

Moreover, Abhishek has been a regular opener for India for the last two years. Although he could not make a mark in the first clash against the USA by getting out of the golden duck, he has won many games single-handedly for India.

While Arshdeep featured in both the first two matches, Yadav will play for the first time against Pakistan if he is picked.
