Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Agha are captaining India and Pakistan, respectively.

India and Pakistan are set to lock horns on February 15 (Sunday) at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Both teams are placed in Group A, with India currently at the top spot with four points, followed by Pakistan with an equal number of points.

The USA, Netherlands, and Namibia are the other three teams in the same pool. Suryakumar Yadav leads India in the tournament, while Salman Agha is captaining Pakistan. After a lot of controversy, Pakistan has agreed to play in the clash.

Earlier, they had been looking to skip the encounter as a mark of protest against Bangladesh’s ouster from the tournament. After International Cricket Council (ICC) replaced Bangladesh with Scotland over the former’s demand to relocate their matches to Sri Lanka, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to skip their game against India. They said that they did not find ICC’s actions justified.

However, following a meeting with ICC and PCB, the issue was resolved and Pakistan players were allowed to play in the match. Notably, India and Pakistan do not play bilateral cricket and only clash in ICC and Asia Cup tournaments.

Last year, both teams locked horns in three games in Asia Cup 2025. India won all three games and also crushed Pakistan in the final. Notably, the tournament witnessed a controversy as Indian players did not shake hands with Pakistan players during their first game. Yadav did not shake hands with Agha at the toss and even after winning the encounter. The suit followed in the other two matches too.
