IND vs PAK: Which team is favourite to win considering slow & spin-friendly wicket?

The IND vs PAK match will be an exciting clash to watch out for and the match is expected to garner a lot of viewership considering the rivalry between both sides over the years.

Both teams won their two opening games of T20 World Cup 2026 and have four points in their kitty. The winner of the next clash will move to the top spot in the Group A points table. Notably, both teams will lock horns at a neutral stadium in R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The R Premadasa Stadium has a spin-friendly and slow wicket, where spinners often dominate with their bowling and batters struggle to score runs. Hence, both teams are expected to add multiple spinners to their playing XI.

Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav are the frontline spinners in India’s squad for T20 Word Cup 2026, while Axar Patel and Washington Sundar are two spin all-rounders. Usman Tariq and Abrar Ahmed are two key spinners in Pakistan’s squad. They have a good depth of spin all-rounders with the likes of Salman Agha, Saim Ayub, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Nawaz, and Shadab Khan.

Notably, Indian spinners are more experienced than Pakistan spinners and they have impressed with their performance over the last year. Moreover, Indian bowlers have dominated with their bowling in the last two games. In terms of batting, Pakistan have inexperienced unit and also their big players are not in form.

Although, the Suryakumar Yadav & Co. struggled with bat in last two games, they have batters who can play spin better than Pakistan batters. Hence, they are expected to outplay the Men-in-Green.
