The first game of IND vs SA four-match T20I series will be played on November 8.

Following the completion of their three-match test series against New Zealand, the Indian cricket team will tour South Africa for a four-match T20I series. Scheduled just before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, the T20I series against South Africa will see a number of young Indian players and those who are on the fringes take part in it.

The last time these two teams met in a T20I game was in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. While the memories of their last meeting would be sweet for the Indian team, the same cannot be said about South Africa. Fans will expect a similar breathtaking game between the two cricketing powerhouses.

On Friday, 25th October, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced 15-man India squad for the four-match T20I series against South Africa, which will start on November 8. The squad has a nice balance of senior players and fresh faces. Three players have received their maiden India T20I call-up as well.

IND vs SA: Three players who have received their maiden India T20I call-up

1. Ramandeep Singh

Ramandeep Singh has been rewarded for his vital role in Kolkata Knight Riders’ title-winning Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign. Throughout the season Ramandeep showcased his hitting ability in the death overs scoring 125 runs from just 62 balls, managing at a strike rate of 201.61.

Ramandeep’s all-rounder ability makes him a valuable inclusion in the Indian T20I setup. Ramandeep is a medium pacer and an excellent fielder. He recently made headlines with a stunning boundary catch during the Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Oman.

2. Yash Dayal

Originally selected for India A’s tour of Australia, Dayal has now been withdrawn to join India’s T20I squad in South Africa. Dayal is known for his control with the new ball.

The left-arm pacer played a key role in Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s comeback in the second half of the IPL 2024 season.

After his horror show against Rinku Singh in IPL 2023, Dayal worked on his death overs bowling, including a back-of-the-hand slower variation.

3. Vijaykumar Vyshak

Vijaykumar Vyshak has been on the radar of Indian selectors in recent times. Vijaykumar was also one of five emerging players to earn fast-bowling contracts from the BCCI. He has played for RCB in the IPL, and has made a name for himself as one of the best pacers in Karnataka.

Vyshak has also shown promise with the red ball, taking 10 wickets at an average of 24.90 in the recent Duleep Trophy.
