IND vs SA third test is expected to end on day three after 16 wickets fell on day two.

The first test between India and South Africa moved very quickly on day two as the platform is set for a day three finish. The day two saw as many as 16 wickets falling at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday.

KL Rahul (39) and Washington Sundar (29) resumed the batting for India at 37/1, trailing by 122. The duo showed great grit against some quality bowling, adding 57 runs for the second wicket. But, Simon Harmer changed the game for South Africa with a four-fer.

India faced a big blow as well with Shubman Gill facing neck spasm while batting. He batted for just three balls and didn’t come to bat again. With the ball turning sharply with an uneven bounce, Indian batters struggled as well. Rishabh Pant (27) and Ravindra Jadeja (27) batted well but couldn’t carry on. India lost wickets quickly in the end with Marco Jansen wrapping up the tail quickly to end the Indian innings on 189 with a lead of 30.

The batting kept getting tougher as South African batters looked torrid against Indian spinners right from the start. The wickets fell like a pack of cards with Ravindra Jadeja running through the top and middle-order to leave South Africa at 75/6.

Captain Temba Bavuma (29*) held the fort for his team and stood tall, scoring crucial runs. At stumps on day two, South Africa finished at 93/7, leading by 63.
