South Africa look favourites to win the second IND vs SA test in Guwahati.

South Africa inched closer to a second straight win of the two-match test series against India as they had a dominating day three of the second test. At Guwahati’s Barsapara Stadium, South Africa ended India’s innings on 201 in response to their 489, taking a lead of taking a lead of 288 runs. They decided to bat again and ended day three on a high.

Indian openers in KL Rahul (22) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (58) provided their team with a solid start, adding 65 runs for the opening wicket. India were going great, having reached 95 for one at one stage. But, after that, they faced a terrible collapse and were left reeling at 122 for seven.

With the team under massive pressure, Washington Sundar (48) and Kuldeep Yadav (19) showed great fightback and hung in and slowly chipped in, adding 72 runs for the eighth wicket. Marco Jansen continued having a great test as he picked a six-fer, ending India’s innings at 201. 

South Africa decided against enforcing follow-on and batted again. Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickelton batted well in the eight overs and ended the day with 26 for no loss with a lead of 314.

The first session of day four of the Guwahati test will begin at 9:00 AM IST and will see first session ending at 11:00 AM IST. It will be followed by a 20-minute tea break before the second session commences from 11:20 PM and will finish at 1:20 PM. After the second session, there will be a 40-minute lunch break till 2.00 PM.

The final session will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. There is a 30-minute extra time from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM to cover the daily quota of overs.
