The first IND vs SA test will begin in Kolkata on November 14 onwards.

The first test between India and South Africa that begins on November 14 at Eden Gardens will be played with increased security to be provided by the Kolkata police. These measures come after the recent blast in Delhi near the Red Fort on November 10.

Eight people were killed and twenty-four were injured in Monday night’s explosion in Delhi. Only two of the eight victims found at the bomb site—men—have been identified thus far, according to authorities; the other six are still unidentified.

The event happened on the same day when police officers from Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana disrupted an interstate terror module, seizing an assault rifle and a significant number of bomb-making supplies. The reason for the detonation is still being investigated.

According to Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, the explosion occurred at approximately 6:52 p.m. as a slow-moving car came to a stop at a traffic signal close to the Red Fort.

Following a high-intensity explosion close to Delhi’s Red Fort, the Kolkata Police have stepped up security ahead of the first IND vs SA test match, which is set to start at the Eden Gardens on November 14.

In reaction to the incident, Kolkata Police have created a thorough security plan that addresses the South African and Indian teams’ travel to and from the stadium, practice sessions, and game days, as per the reports in India Today. Officers have been stationed at all significant entry and departure points, and special NAKA checks and increased surveillance have been implemented around the Eden Gardens.

Manoj Verma, the commissioner of police in Kolkata, is scheduled to visit Eden Gardens on Tuesday to personally evaluate the plans. To guarantee strong safety procedures for players, officials, and spectators, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has been collaborating closely with the police.

Additionally, the team’s lodgings now have more robust security. Senior police authorities and CAB representatives met to finalize the operational specifics and talk about further safety precautions in light of the Delhi tragedy.

On November 11, both South Africa and India start their training under strict security.
