IND vs SA: India will tour South Africa for a four-match T20I series, starting on November 8 in Durban.

After the completion of the three-match home test series against New Zealand, the Indian cricket team will tour South Africa for a four-match T20I series.

The IND vs SA T20I series will be played from November 8 to November 15. None of the test players are expected to be picked for this series as at the same time they will be in Australia, preparing for the Border-Gavaskar series in Australia will begin on November 22.

This T20I series will be an important assignment for the young and fringe players who have not yet cemented their place in the T20I side. Since winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June, India have defeated Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in T20I series.

Below, we will talk here about India’s predicted 15-member squad for the IND vs SA T20Is in November.

IND vs SA: Indian Cricket Team 15-member squad for T20I series against South Africa – Predicted

Young opener Abhishek Sharma played all three T20Is against Bangladesh, where he failed with the bat and scored only 35 runs. But, he returned to form in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup T20. With Gill and Jaiswal set to be part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Abhishek will get another go as opener in the IND vs SA T20Is.

Earlier, he slammed his maiden T20I ton in Zimbabwe.

2. Sanju Samson (wk)

Sanju Samson played a career-defining innings during the third T20I against Bangladesh. He hit a 40-ball ton and is set to be India’s opener for the South Africa tour.

Samson’s game is very well suited for the South African conditions as he likes pace on the ball.

3. Suryakumar Yadav (c)

Suryakumar Yadav will be the first name on the Indian team sheet for the IND vs SA T20I series. The Indian captain is one of the best T20 batsmen in the world, and he will be looking to add another series win under his leadership.

4. Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya ended the Bangladesh series with Player of the Series award. He is someone who has significant experience playing in South Africa.

His all-round skills strengthen India in both departments. Hardik’s form will be crucial for India’s chances.

Rinku Singh was part of India’s last tour of South Africa and did well. The southpaw is in good form and scored 61 runs in two innings at an average of 61 against Bangladesh.

He has established himself as a designated finisher and would be looking to seal a place in the T20I XI.

6. Riyan Parag

Indian selectors are impressed with Riyan Parag and are looking to groom him as an all-rounder, which is why he got a call-up right after his first successful Indian Premier League 2024 season. Parag can be used as a floater in the middle-order and is pretty handy with the ball too.

He gives a great balance to the team and will be the one whom India will look to pick in their first-choice playing XI for the IND vs SA T20Is.

7. Nitish Kumar Reddy

Young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy had a highly impressive debut series against Bangladesh. He scored 90 runs at a strike rate of 180 and took 3 wickets at an economy rate of 7.88.

He has all the skillset to become a match-winning all-rounder, and his recent performance is likely to get him a place in the XI for the IND vs SA T20Is.

8. Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube missed the series against Bangladesh due to an injury. But if he is fit, he is likely to be fit for the South African tour, though with Reddy’s emergence, a place in the first-choice XI is not certain for Dube.

Dube was part of the T20 World Cup-winning side in Barbados and played a crucial cameo in the final against South Africa.

9. Washington Sundar

Ravindra Jadeja’s retirement has meant that Washington Sundar could get more chances in the T20I XI. He has also grabbed the opportunity with both hands and did well against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.

Sundar is someone who can bowl in the powerplay as well and also strengthens the batting order, which makes him a crucial player for the Indian T20I squad.

10. Ravi Bishnoi

After missing the first two games against Bangladesh, Ravi Bishnoi got a chance in the third game. He made an impact straight away by picking up three wickets.

Bishnoi bowls faster than other spinners and the googly is his most-used weapon.

11. Varun Chakravarty

Varun Chakravarty made his comeback in the Indian team after almost three years and repaid the faith of the selectors by performing well. He took five wickets in three games against Bangladesh and bowled economically as well.

Varun has multiple variations, and he can extract bounce from the South African surface.

12. Jitesh Sharma (wk)

Jitesh was part of the Indian team that played in South Africa last time and is expected to be the backup keeper this time as well.

With Pant part of the test setup, Samson is the preferred keeper-batsman in the T20I team.

13. Arshdeep Singh

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh is the leader of the Indian bowling unit in T20Is. The left-arm pacer is improving game by game. That is why he will be among the first-choice bowlers for the IND vs SA T20Is.

Arshdeep is having a phenomenal year in T20Is – he’s taken 28 wickets this year and played a key role in helping India win the T20 World Cup.

14. Mayank Yadav

South African conditions will be a dream place for a bowler who can bowl at 150 km/h. That’s what Mayank Yadav offers. Mayank is coming off an impressive debut series against Bangladesh.

Mayank took four wickets in three matches at an economy rate of 6.91 and showed glimpses of his ability on flat pitches. On the pitches that offer pace and bounce, he could be lethal.

15. Harshit Rana

Harshit Rana was unfortunate to not make his T20I debut against Bangladesh as he was down with illness during the last T20I. But, he could get his T20I cap in the IND vs SA T20Is.

Rana was a vital cog in Kolkata Knight Riders’ title-winning campaign this year as he took 19 wickets in 13 matches.
