India's tour of South Africa 2024
IND vs SA: Why Shivam Dube and Riyan Parag are not selected in India T20I squad for South Africa tour?

Riyan Parag made his T20I debut in July this year against Zimbabwe.
The BCCI, on Friday, named the squads for the four T20Is in South Africa and the five-match test series in Australia and had previously announced the India A squad to take on Australia A.
However, the names of Riyan Parag and Shivam Dube have been missing from all three squads, which has left a question mark in the minds of the fans.
While Dube has been part of India’s T20I team since his return to the side last year and played a role in India’s title win at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Parag made his T20I debut in July and has featured in the last three T20I series. Both of them have done well in the chances they have got.
So, their absence from the 15-man squad to take on South Africa in a four-match T20I series, starting November 8 in Durban, was unexpected. They are, though, not dropped but their absence has been forced due to injuries.
Why is Riyan Parag not selected in India’s T20I squad vs South Africa?
Parag was unavailable for selection for the South Africa tour as he is currently at the BCCI Centre of Excellence for the long-term resolution of his chronic right shoulder injury, the board revealed this in a statement.
Why is Shivam Dube not selected in India’s T20I squad vs South Africa?
Dube, who had missed the T20Is against Bangladesh due to a back injury, has been ruled out of the South Africa tour due to an injury. However, the BCCI didn’t confirm whether this is the same back injury or something else.
India and South Africa will clash in four T20Is, scheduled for Durban (November 8), Gqueberha (November 10), Centurion (November 13) and Johannesburg (November 15).
India squad for T20Is against South Africa:
Suryakumar Yadav (capt), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wk), Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Ramandeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Avesh Khan, Yash Dayal.
