The first IND vs WI test at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, will begin on October 2.

Indian Cricket Team and West Indies Cricket Team will face off with each other in first test of the two-match test series at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, scheduled to commence on Thursday, October 2.

India, led by Shubman Gill, will be short of vice-captain Rishabh Pant in the series as he has been ruled out due to a foot injury, which he sustained during the England test tour. Ravindra Jadeja will be Gill’s deputy in his absence, while Dhruv Jurel and N Jagadeesan be taking the wicket-keeping duties.

While Sai Sudharsan, who made his test debut during India’s last test series in England, has retained his place in the side, Devdutt Padikkal, who has played two tests so far, has made a comeback.

On the other hand, the West Indies will be led by Roston Chase in the series. The Carribean side will be short of two key pacers in Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph, both of whom got ruled out of the series due to injuries. Johann Layne and Jediah Blades have replaced them in the squad.

The West Indies have recalled Alick Athanaze and Tagenarine Chanderpaul for the series. While the visitors have a strong batting unit, they lack experienced players in their bowling department.

IND vs WI: What are the session timings for day 1 of the first test at Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium? 

The first day of the Ahmedabad test will begin at 9:30 AM IST with first session ending at 11:30 AM IST, followed by a 40-minute lunch break. The second session will be played from 12:10 PM to 2:10 PM.

A 20-minute tea break will follow it before the final session will take place from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. There is a 30-minute extra time from 4:30 PM to 5 PM to cover the daily quota of overs.
