India declared first innings at 518/5 on day 2 of second IND vs WI test in Delhi.

Indian Cricket Team continued their dominance against West Indies Cricket Team on day 2 of the second test on Saturday, October 11 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. In the first session, Yashasvi Jaiswal bagged an unlucky run-out following a goof-up with captain Shubman Gill.

Jaiswal, who slammed his century on the day one, failed to convert it into his double ton, getting out for 175 runs. Later, Gill took the responsibility on him and registered his 10th test century in the second session. In the lead-up to his ton, the right-handed batsman also etched a stand of 91 runs with Nitish Reddy (43) for the fourth wicket after the latter was promoted up the order.

Later, Gill and Dhruv Jurel (44) built a stand of 102 runs for the fifth wicket. After Jurel lost his wicket, India declared their innings with a mammoth total of 518/5, with Gill hammering an unbeaten 129 runs off 196 balls.

Jomel Warrican was the only West Indies bowler who made an impact with the ball, clinching a three-wicket haul. Roston Chase got one wicket in his kitty. With the bat, West Indies lost opener John Campbell (10) cheaply as he became a victim of spinner Ravindra Jadeja.

Tagenarine Chanderpaul (34) and Alick Athanaze (41) looked good with the bat and etched a partnership of 66 runs for the second wicket before Jadeja broke their bond. He also dismissed the visiting captain Roston Chase for a duck, handing them a big blow. At stumps on day 2, the visitors reached 140/4, trailing by 378 runs with Shai Hope (31*) and Tevin Imlach (14*) on the crease.
