The IND-W vs AUS-W Test got underway on March 6 at WACA Ground in Perth.
The one-off test between India Women and Australia Women began on March 6 (Friday) at Western Australia Cricket Association Ground in Perth. Australian captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and opted to field first.
For India, Kashvee Gautam, Pratika Rawal, Kranti Gaud and Sayali Satghare made their test debuts, while Lucy Hamilton featured in her first test for Australia Women.
Healy’s decision to bowl first turned out to be fruitful as India Women failed to post a big total in the first innings. They were bowled out for 198 runs. While opener Smriti Mandhana got out cheaply for four runs, Shafali Varma added 35 runs.

Till lunch, the visitors lost four batters with the scoreboard reading 99/4. Jemimah Rodriques reached her half-century in the second session off 74 balls, hitting seven boundaries in the process. She was the only batter to score a fifty for India, while key batters like Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, and Richa Ghosh could not cross the 20-run mark.
Till Tea, India lost seven wickets with 184 runs on the board. Kashvee Gautam added crucial runs towards the end, scoring an unbeaten 34 runs. The Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. were all out with two runs short of the 200-run mark.

Seam all-rounder Annabel Sutherland starred with her bowling show, clinching a four-wicket haul. Debutant Lucy Hamilton grabbed a lot of limelight by picking three wickets. Both the pacers played a pivotal role in the bowling, with Darcie Brown (2 wickets) and Ashleigh Gardner (1 wicket) making crucial contributions.
Australia Women did not have a brilliant start either, losing both openers Georgia Voll and Phoebe Litchfield for single digits. Even captain Healy failed to go big, getting dismissed by debutant Satghare for 13 runs.
However, Ellyse Perry (43*) batted with patience till the stumps of Day 1, driving the scoreboard to 96/3 as Australia Women trail by 102 runs. On Day 2, India Women will try their best efforts to bowl out Australia, while the latter will aim to post a mammoth total to put pressure on the visitors.
