Tilak Varma returns as India A squad announced for T20 World Cup 2026 warm-up matches

India A will play two warm-up matches against the USA and Namibia ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026.

The stage is all set for the T20 World Cup 2026, where 20 teams will battle for the trophy. The multi-nation tournament will begin on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka, who are the co-hosts of the campaign.

Ahead of the T20 World Cup, many teams will play warm-up matches. A total of 16 warm-up games will take place ahead of the tournament. Moreover, India A will also participate alongside India in warm-up games.

While India are scheduled to play just one warm-up match against South Africa on February 4 at DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, India A are set to play two encounters.

India A will face the United States of America (USA) on February 2 at DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. Their second warm-up clash will take place on February 6 against Namibia at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Group 1 in Bengaluru.

Ayush Badoni to captain India A in warm-up matches

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-member India A squad for their warm-up matches. All-rounder Ayush Badoni has been named as the captain of the side.

Interestingly, batter Tilak Varma is also named in the squad. He is part of India’s squad for the T20 World Cup but was out of the field for over a month due to an injury.

IPL stars like Priyansh Arya, Naman Dhir, Vipraj Nigam, and Mayank Yadav have also found spots in the squad. Ravi Bishnoi will lead the spin attack, while Riyan Parag will be an experienced member of the side. Urvil Patel and N Jagadeesan are two wicket-keepers.
