Abhimanyu Easwaran is the captain of India A, while James Rew is the skipper of England Lions in the series. The first unofficial test between both sides ended in a draw. England Lions won the toss and opted to bat first in the match.

India A posted a big total of 557/10 in the first innings. Karun Nair (204) slammed a stunning double ton. Sarfaraz Khan (92) and Dhruv Jurel (94) also showed a brilliant performance with the bat.

England Lions replied with 587/10 in the second innings. Tom Haines (171), Max Holden (101), and Dan Mousley (113) hammered centuries for the hosts. In the second innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Dhruv Jurel, and Nitish Kumar Reddy slammed half-centuries for India A to drive the scoreboard to 241/2.

Among bowlers, Mukesh Kumar grabbed a three-wicket haul while Shardul Thakur got two wickets. For England Lions, Josh Hull and Zaman Akhter captured three-wicket hauls.
