India won their first-ever test match at Edgbaston.
The Indian Cricket Team achieved a massive feat in the history of test cricket. The Shubman Gill-led side registered their biggest overseas victory by runs in the longest format of the game on Sunday (6th July).
It came against the England Cricket Team in the second test of the ongoing five-match test series between the teams. The game took place at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham and saw the Shubman Gill-led side dominating the opposition.
India registered a massive 336-run win against England after facing a poor five-wicket loss in the first game at Headingley in Leeds. This was also their first-ever win at Edgbaston in tests. With this, they levelled the five-match series 1-1 and will be going into the third test, which will take place at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, on a high.

The 336-run win over England surpassed India’s previous biggest win margin by runs in overseas conditions, which came against the West Indies. They beat the Caribbean team by a margin of 318 at Antigua in 2019 to script history.
The third-largest win for India by runs in an away game came against Sri Lanka in Galle during the 2017 tour. They won the game by 317 runs. Also, their 224-run win at Perth against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 ranks fourth amongst the largest wins by runs away from home.
