India were bowled out for 93 runs while chasing a 124-run target in the first IND vs SA test.
In what can be described as one of their worst batting shows, Indian Cricket Team lost to South Africa Cricket Team by 30 runs in the first test at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Sunday, November 16. The Shubman Gill & Co. failed to chase down a 124-run target in the encounter, getting bowled out for just 93 runs.
South Africa, with spinner Simon Harmer’s four-wicket haul, denied India any chances of victory at a tricky pitch at Eden Gardens, as the match witnessed batters from both sides struggling to score runs. Keshav Maharaj and Marco Jansen also clinched two wickets each to dominate Indian batters in the second innings as Indian wickets fell like a house of cards.
Following the defeat, India registered a humiliating record in their kitty in test cricket, failing to chase down their second-lowest target in tests. Moreover, it was also the only second time that India failed to chase down a target below 125 runs in the longest format.
