Team India’s new kit manufacturer Adidas unveiled the new jersey of the Indian Cricket Team. The German company Adidas replaced former kit manufacturer Killer. They signed a deal for the next five years till 2028. The killer came in when MPL pulled out. India’s first assignment with an Adidas jersey will be World Test Championship final at The Oval in England. India will be taking on Australia. Adidas will be providing kits for the Men’s, Women’s, and Under-19 cricket teams for their events. Men in Blue are gearing up for the WTC final with the new Adidas training kit. The WTC final will begin on 7th June.
Adidas has unveiled the jersey of the Indian Cricket Team in all three formats. They have maintained the Indian team’s iconic colour blue. Indian players will wear dark blue jerseys in ODIs while light blue colour jerseys will be used for the T20 format. Jersey will carry 3 stars with the BCCI logo in it to represent India’s three iconic wins. India won the World Cup in 1983 and 2011 and T20 World Cup in 2007 under MS Dhoni. They have also used white stripes on the shoulders of all three jerseys.
The Indian team will be playing many ICC events in the coloured jersey in the course of the next 5 years, starting with ICC Cricket World Cup in 2023 in October and then World T20 next June in West Indies and the USA. Deal with Adidas is estimated at around 350 Crore rupees. Adidas was excited to be associated with the Indian Cricket team. India will use their coloured Adidas jersey for the first time in the West Indies tour in June and July this year.
